TORRES GOAL WAS SPAIN IN THE ARSE FOR SKYBET

AT LEAST we weren't the only ones crying into our pints on Monday night...

Because while Liverpool fans drank to forget a dreadful performance at Anfield against Villa, the oddsmakers at Sky Bet were regretting dreaming up one particular special bet.

Fernando Torres' goal in the 3-1 defeat meant they had to cough up a six-figure liability on an enhanced goalscorer special - to the delight of around 2,000 punters.

Going into the weekend, the Harrogate-based bookie offered enhanced odds of 20/1 for Wayne Rooney, Emmanuel Adebayor, Didier Drogba and Torres all to score in their respective matches.

Sky Bet's Helen Jacob said: "Torres scoring capped off a terrible weekend of football results. The 20/1 for all four players to score was the best in the industry so it's little wonder that it was popular."
